"Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent!"

The mirror test is an experiment developed in 1970 by psychologist Gordon Gallup Jr. to determine whether an animal possesses the ability to recognize itself in a mirror. It is the primary indicator of self-awareness in non-human animals and marks entrance to the mirror stage by human children in developmental psychology. Animals that pass the mirror test are: Humans older than 18 mo, Chimpanzees, Bonobos, Orangutans, Gorillas, Bottlenose Dolphins, Orcas (Killer Whales), Elephants, and European Magpies. Others showing signs of self-awareness are Pigs, some Gibbons, Rhesus Macaques, Capuchin Monkeys, some Corvids (Crows & Ravens) and Pigeons w/training. (Sorry Kitty!)

Born in a Cincinnati zoo, two Bengal tiger cubs - Ron and Julie - have spent the last three years being taught by humans how to hunt and live in the wild. If successfully integrated, they will become the prototype for a bold plan to save the world's population of wild tigers.

Without their parents' guiding example, the pre-killing technique tiger cubs rely on their mothers to teach them must be learned by trial and sometimes life-threatening error. Follow the journey from cuddly cub to professional hunters as the youngsters' feral instincts slowly emerge in the African wilderness.

Watch the drama of life and death unfold in amazing detail. A handheld camera hovers inches from Julius's jaws as she prowls and a head-mounted surveillance camera records the action as Ron closes in for the kill, delivering the first point of view images ever recorded as a large predator hunting. An intimate look at the struggle of two captivity-born tigers to become self-sufficient in the wild, this is a documentary unlike any other.
